1000 Page views!

It's been about 2 months now and I have hit the 1000 page views point. May saw about 200 views, and June had increased to roughly 800 views. So I just want to say a big thank you to all who are "following" me and to all those who leave comments!

New Resin: Hospital Beds
The new resin arrived today, nice and quick, so thank you to Tiranti! It apparently needs a warm room, so hopefully the sun will pop out at some point. I think we may leave it to the weekend to try and cast the hospital beds. We plan to use all the "miss-cast" beds for our own personal use. We can patch them up and they'll look normal then, but I can't go selling patched up stuff, so it's best not to waste them.

EDIT: I just took a look at where the main problems were occurring with the casting. So I've taken back the originals and I'll sort them out to make them better for casting. Hopefully it'll work and we'll have more luck next time! Which brings me onto the next point...

Hospital Building
We have decided to build our own hospital. Yesterday we spent an hour or so working out floor plans and what to include inside it. We decided that there should be a basement with a morgue, laundry room, and a boiler room. Ground floor will have an outpatients area with offices and communal area. The the first and second floor will be wards. Today I have been using Photoshop to put together walls, create windows and design it all. Hopefully I can put together a mock-up of a ward to see how it all looks. We'll have to get more foam card at some point, I only have about an A3 sized bit left.

I shall leave you all with a bit of painting I did. I was bored the other day, so I decided to grab one of my figures (the ogre) and decided to paint him to practice my painting skills. He's a WIP, so I'll add to him at some point. I might sell him on eBay if he turns out ok.

Enjoy, and thank you once again. Oh still no word on those zombie nurses/mutants/demons. I shall contact the caster again today.

  1. Shame about the beds and the hospital - I've nearly finished my Stoelzel's Structures one!

    1. Yeah it's really annoying. ALthought I just had a look over the one's we have cast, and I plan to rework the original ones and make them more castable in the areas that are causing issues. Fingers crossed it'll work out :)

  2. Many congratulations on your first 1,000 hits. I'm sure it won't be long before you reach 10,000 hits!

I love the sound of you plans for your hospital. That's a big project that I'd like to do sometime. Sigh, if only there were more hours in the day!

    1. Cheers!! Indeed... longer days are much needed! As for the hospital beds, I just took a look at the ones we did cast and have seen where the problems are. So I will do some work on the originals to make them more castable and less likely to cause issues. Fingers crossed!!

  3. Well done sir! I'm sure you'll sort out the beds issue in time. Perhaps those who are good at 'doing up' will want to buy your miscasts Ramshackle games do this

    1. Why thank you! Luckily we have plans for the one's we have currently cast as they will work in the hospital I am building. Hopefully, with a few extra touches here and there on the originals the issues will be solved :)

  4. I would buy miscasts. Afterall you can't melt the resin down and re use it. So as long as clearly labeled as miscasts I don't see a problem.

Gratz on first 1000. I feel it will increase dramatically.

Tirantis's I remember them from my very distant past. (20years+ ago). Good to know they are still going.

keep up the good work and I'd love to see how the Hospital comes out in the end.

    1. I'd prefer not to sell miscasts, but it's good to know that some people might be ok with it. Hopefully with a few tweeks to the originals, it'll solve the problems :) I'll work on them tonight (it's 16:40 here) ;)

    1. Hehe I know :) It's just annyoying little things, like noses missing on some, then a foot missing on another, or clipboard having big holes in them. I spent this afternoon going over the originals, putting extra putty in places to thicken them up. Hopefully that will help. Also, the new resin "might" help, but I won't know until the weekend! So there'll probably be another blog about it all after the weekend :)

Ah yes! I am wanting to see your hospital!! :P

    1. Firing the rest of the guys?! lol The hospital is going to be pretty big, but it's intended to be the main focus of th game, so it'll take up a large space (like hospitals usually do in real life!).

haha 25000?!??! Ambitious! I like the sound of that! :D

  8. Congrats on hitting the 1000 mark.

I goolgled "Small hospital plans" (or something very similar) a good while ago and got some very interesting results.

Good luck on the hospital build (I've gone off the idea of hospitals having seen the inside of them for too long recently).

    1. Cheers!! That's a good idea, might give me some tips. I'm sort of basing it on one of the hospitals I regularly go to, but with a few differences.

I totally understand what you mean. I spent have spent so much time in hospitals, especially last summer :( But as I know them so well, it kinda makes building one easier as I don't need to do research as much lol Also... once it's done it's done, never again!
