FREE Give-away!! Must like Facebook Page!

I know everyone here who has Facebook probably already "likes" my Grekwood Miniatures page, but I thought it would be worth posting here just in case someone didn't, or you think someone might be interested in this mini give-away.

Basically I have a couple of items, which I thought would be nice to give to a random person who has "liked" the Facebook page.

The winner can choose any of the 3 items A, B or C.

A - The Tenderiser, A 46mm miniature
B - Bexi Warrior Princess
C - 3 of the Zombie Nurses (not 4 like on the website)

Ends August 31st 2013

Please feel free to go to the Facebook page and SHARE this image to get more people involved! Or spread it in any way you can think of.

Cheers to everyone who has done it so far :)

Oh finally: Female Survivors from WGF - I WILL be stocking these later this month, so please check us out if you are in Europe since you won't have to pay heavy postage (like you would buying straight from WGF).

Cheers!

Dreamforge now available! (and more zombies)

So this month (July) I have uploaded the Time Lost investigators, but I have also released a number of plastic figures.

They are known as the "Dreamforge Stormtroopers". I saw these a month or so ago and thought they were pretty awesome. So I picked up some for myself, and some for the website!

I stock all the main troop/accessory packs:

10 Man Stormtrooper pack
20 Man Stormtrooper pack
Accessory pack
Support weapons pack

You should find that the price I am charging is less than most (if not every ) places in the UK. So think of it like I have discounted each box :P

I have also decided to stock the Wargames Factory "Female vixens" and the "Zombie Survivors: The Men"

So I will post those up next week too. I was going to wait until August to try and spread things out a little, but though, why not!

Finally...

The zombie bust will be on sale tomorrow!!!

Anyway, that's all for now!

Zombie Sculpts and Buildings!

To kick start this blog I would like to say a big thank you to Inso (Steven Marchant) for sculpting a tribute miniature in memory of my brother Gareth (aka Grekwood). Here's a photo taken from Inso's blog:

Click to zooOOMM

I will be casting him at some point and he will then be available on the website. Because he is a tribute to my brother, I am thinking of donating some of the profits to the CGD Society, that way it not only helps out Grekwood Miniatures, but it also helps out the charity.

Now I have been working on that Hospital again! I have now completed 4 wards. So here is a photo of them all lined up!

In the photo there is a green, grey, blue and pink ward. They can be stacked on top of each other, or laid flat. If laying flat then there should be a gap between each ward (not bunched together as shown) as there should be a courtyard between each ward with trees and stuff. It is designed to be two stories high (ground and 1st floor) as it is bases on Landough Hospital.

Now some sculpting progress: Here are 3 figures I started the other day, so they are all WIP. 2 males and one female in the middle. The sculpting on these is an improvement on the first batch I ever did. I am making things more defined and including all the detail I can such as a zip on the females clothes.
The butcher (above far right) has sideburns like the butcher from "the league of gentlemen" tv show (picture right). I'm not giving him an axe though... maybe a survivor for one of my later planned moulds (I'm looking at next year for that though).

The females are more "curvy"... she got booty... Again the sculpting (in person) resembles that of resin plastic figures, so I take this as a sign of better/smoother more defined sculpting. These figures are going to be more torn up that the other ones, so representing more walkers and stumblers rather than just walkers.
I'm working on the basis that it goes: Fresh zombie (runner) > walker > stumbler > Crawler > Corpse (just this time it remains that way!). The further right you go the more damaged they are. I'm thinking of bringing out a "specials" mould at some point. But more on that another time :P

Ok I think that's all for now. Oh housing news, we found a different place, loved it, and went for it. We're in the process of sorting out all the paperwork, but fingers crossed there will be no issues! It has a great sized 2nd bedroom, perfect for taking over as a sculpting/business room :)

Ok now that really is all for now! Comments as always are welcome! Cheers for reading :)

Hospital Beds - Now on Sale!!

Short blog this time just to let you know that the hospital beds are finally on sale now, so check out the website: http://www.grekwoodminiatures.co.uk/HospitalBeds.php

Here's a photo of some packaged up beds:

Reminder, contact me for postage if you are outside of the UK. I can't stress that enough as normal postage doesn't always cover countries outside of the UK.

Also, once again, if you want the normal zombie nurses and want to save on postage, then please wait until next week as that is when I should hopefully have the zombies for sale.

If you know of anyone who might like these, whether on forums/facebook or whatever, please post a link to them :)

Cheers to everyone who has commented and been patient the past month or so. It's been a while getting there, but I finally did it!

Until the next blog...cheerio!

Painted 28mm Hospital Beds

I finished painting the beds yesterday. I admit they are not painted to best of standards, but as they are more war gaming pieces rather than "figures" I don't think it matters as much. You can kinda get the idea of what they are meant to look like though, which is the main thing! So here they are set out into their 8 different packs:

Below are he 4 empty bed packs. They are pretty self explanatory.. You can't zoom in though sorry! I uploaded the wrong images, and it took ages to arrange them (it was jumping all over the place!)

Below are the 2 packs which have alive patients in them. The male pack contains one guy sitting up holding a glass, whilst the other lays down with a sick pan thing, because he's just not feeling too good. Female pack has a female sitting up with a bed pan on her bed, and one laying down..maybe she is tired?

Below are the two "zombified" eaten people. And their corpse counterpart before they spring back to life!

These will hopefully be ready for sale on the website early next week!

IMPORTANT: The "normal" zombie nurses will most likely be available the week after (if everything goes according to plan), therefore if you would like both the hospital beds AND the nurses (and would like to save on postage) it is best to wait until the nurses are available. That way you save some postage..

If you plan to wait for the nurses, you can still let us know exactly what you would like to order (bed wise), and we will put it aside for you until the nurses come into stock and you are ready to make your order :)

ALSO... it is very important that if you live outside of the UK, contact me (through the website) with your order so I can calculate the correct postage, otherwise I cannot send it to you using the normal postage as that only applies to the UK.

Zombie Masters... and other beings... coming shortly

Masters for the current batch of 28mm figures arrived today. So they have been sprayed white to show up the detail a bit better (silver is too reflective!). So, without any further delay, here they are:

4 Zombie nurses with "normal" zombie heads. Nice, how badly do you want these lovely ladies to look after you?!? haha

and  now for the behind shot...

Some demon people. Kinda zombie like, just without arms flapping about. So they have a "straight jacket" appearance.  Their expanded chest has caused the front to tear open, making it a weak spot...or a weapon which squirts out infection?!?

... now for their behind shot...

Now for those mutants with guns! I like these, I know I sculpted them so I should like them right? But it's one of those things where you sculpt something and think...yeah, I really like them. I think I like the amount of detail I managed to put on them, and just because they were something different for me to sculpt.

So...behind shot, tubes everywhere, butts handing out...ummm.. yeah...

Ok that's those sorted for now. I assume that the production castings will be in my hands in the next week or two, but we'll have to wait and see. So I'l update when I know something. But for now, it's one step closer.

Once again, thank you for looking, feel free to use the photos to show friends and people who may like them. All comments are welcome as always. I will give an update on the Hospital beds and building next week. Cheers!

The Female Anatomy.. & Curves!

First of all, welcome to those who have recently decided to follow me, it's much appreciated!

The past couple of days I have been working on improving my female anatomy sculpting. My first sculpts ever were not the most anatomically correct (which is ok, they are zombies), so I wanted my future releases to be more feminine in shape (well, just the females that is!). So below is a quick photo of two females I have been working on. I've tried making them "curvy" in all the right places, so from a distance you can see they are female. What do you think?

Click to ZOOOOM

They are a WIP, so they are incomplete, and need to be filed down/smoothed over. I do not plan to sell them, as they are purely for my use and practice.

On a side note; that IS a dino to the right, and that is some weird sci fi guy to the left... he's just weird.

Should I finish the dinosaur and sell him on my site? What do you think of the female sculpts so far?

Cheers :)

Naughty but Nice...

Yesterday I collected the second batch of painted zombies (See photo below). It's cool seeing them painted differently.

I also really like the paintwork on Demonic Debra, she appears less demonic painted like this, more "naughty but nice" (see below):

I think I will be keeping this one as my personal collection! I had two lots painted, one for myself to keep in a cabinet, and the other lot would be to use in wargames and take to conventions etc. I really like the "demonic" painting on the other one, but there is just something about this one which makes me love it!!

Anyway, as always cheers for looking, all figures are available on the website. Join us on Facebook, buy some stuff if you like it, and comments are always welcome :)
